During this session, a student's individual swing will be broken down and analyzed. Practice will be formatted around the unique fundamentals of the student's natural swing. The focus will be to dramatically enhance the efficiency of the swing in efforts to bring about more consistent contact with added power behind it.
Developing power into the swing is at the base of this program. Students will train to develop a stronger core and increase strength in the hands and wrist.
Focus will be to build arm strength and accuracy through balance and control. Students will develop proper pitching mechanics as well as learn and understand the mental approach to pitching. Drills will be designed to increase arm speed and core strength. Muscle groups such as abdominals, forearms and legs will be worked out through light weight training and Plyometrics.
Pitch development will be limited to fastball and change-up.
Whether a student wants to step on the mound for the first time next year or wants to go into next season with something to show. This pitching course will take him to the next level.
Drill based practice involving 2-4 students with hitting lessons being conducted via hitting tees, soft toss and live arm pitching. Students will see their hand-eye-coordination and bat speed enhance through drills designed to eliminate a "loop" or "chop" in the swing.
The biggest set back to open a season for a hitter is timing! By working on his swing through the off-season, a student will be better able to open the season strong, more prepared and ON TIME when the first pitch is thrown.
Focus will be to increase strength and quickness in footwork, and throwing motion to all four bases. Drills will be specifically formatted to unique catching situations. This program attacks the fundamental principle that balance and positioning turns average catchers into great receivers.
